ORGANISATION FOR ECONOMIC CO-OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT
The OECD groups 30 member countries sharing a commitment to democratic government and the market economy. With active relationships with some 70 other countries, NGOs and civil society, it has a global reach. It provides policy advice on a broad range of economic and social issues. Private pension activities are carried out by a Working Party in which pension regulators and supervisors from member and observer countries are represented. In addition to information gathering, monitoring and policy dialogue, the OECD produces good practices in the area of pension regulation, like the 2004 Recommendation on Core Principles of Occupational Pension Regulation.
